Cheeseburger

  • 1 pound ground beef, divided into 4 equal parts, and formed into patties about 1/2 inch thick
  • 4 thin slices of cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon coarse natural sea salt, crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 8 slices organic sourdough bread or 4 English muffins
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil.

1. Mix the seasonings and sprinkle it over the meat.

2. Heat the oil over medium heat in a large frying pan until it is hot. Cook the patties for 3 to 5 minutes on each side, depending on how you like them. Place a cheese slice on each patty for the last minute of cooking.

3. Place the patty on the bread and top with your favorite condiments.

(These patties also work well on the barbeque.)
